School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well-being, academic success and lifelong achievement and health of students. To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety, including a healthy environment; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self managment, self-advocacy and learning. HB 2094- providing for vaccine exemption based on "reasons of conscience or personal belief". Scheduled for a Hearing Januray 18, 2012. Kansas school nurses are encouraged to contact their legislator and voice any concerns regarding this bill. KSNO opposes this bill. Kansas Mission of Mercy Kansas Mission of Mercy (KMOM) will hold their 11th Annual dental clinic on February 17 and 18 in Kansas City, Kansas. The KMOM is designed to provide urgent dental care to as many people as volunteer dental professionals are able to treat.
